Policies

Simple rules. Common sense.

A short read. Most of it is what you'd expect from a clean, friendly shop.

Liability waiver

Every customer signs this before working in a bay, and we check it against a valid ID at the counter. You'll sign when you arrive — it takes about two minutes — or you can sign ahead of time from your phone and save the wait. The link is in your booking confirmation too.

Reservations

  • ·Online reservations take a deposit by card: $10 for an hourly or full-day booking, or $50 for a 6-day week. It is credited to your bill when you pay.
  • ·Hourly, day, and 6-day week bookings can all be made online.
  • ·1-hour minimum booking. Maximum 8 hours per online booking.
  • ·All bookings start on the hour and run in whole hours — no half-hour starts or lengths.
  • ·All bookings must end by closing time (6:00 PM). The bay must be clear and tools returned by then, unless we've agreed on extended hours (below).
  • ·The shop is closed Tuesdays. If you book a 6-day week and need a Tuesday, text us and we'll arrange it.
  • ·Extended hours: bookings cover our open hours, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Starting earlier or staying later is $30 an hour with Coopers staff present, with a 2-hour minimum, paid when confirmed. On a 6-day week, give us 48 hours' notice and arrange it by text. If a day or hourly booking is running long, ask the counter that day and we'll say yes if staff can stay. We don't offer unstaffed access.

Cancellations & no-shows

  • ·Cancel 24 or more hours before your start time and the deposit is refunded in full. Cancel inside 24 hours, or no-show, and the deposit is kept.
  • ·Repeated no-shows (3+ in 90 days) may forfeit online booking privileges and require a phone reservation going forward.
  • ·If you're running late, please call (419) 704-2146. If we don't hear from you 30 minutes after start time, we may release your bay.

Age, ID, and occupancy

  • ·The primary renter must be 18 or older and present a valid ID.
  • ·A maximum of 3 people is allowed per bay rental unless Coopers staff approve otherwise.
  • ·Children may only be in the shop with a parent or guardian.

Safety

  • ·Closed-toe shoes required at all times in the shop.
  • ·Eye protection is required when grinding, cutting, or working under a vehicle.
  • ·Lifts are operated by Coopers staff only. A staff member raises and lowers your vehicle for you — just ask when you're ready.
  • ·No smoking, vaping, or open flames anywhere in the shop.
  • ·No alcohol or marijuana is allowed on the property during a rental.

Liability waiver

  • ·All customers must sign the standard shop waiver before working in a bay. Signing happens at the counter against a valid ID; you can fill it in ahead of time to save a couple of minutes.
  • ·Coopers is not responsible for damage to your vehicle, parts, or personal property.

Tools & equipment

  • ·Use shop tools as if they were your own — return them clean to where you found them.
  • ·Tools broken through misuse, or lost or missing tools, are charged at actual replacement cost.
  • ·If you break a tool through normal use, let us know right away.
  • ·Bring your own specialty tool if you want a specific brand or calibrated setup guaranteed.

Cleanup

  • ·Sweep your bay and dispose of trash before you leave.
  • ·Used oil goes in the labeled drum (free). Coolant is recycled separately ($5). Never down the drain.
  • ·Leaving a major mess may result in a $100 cleanup charge.

Conduct

  • ·Be respectful to staff and other customers. We're a small shop — community matters.
  • ·We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone violating these policies.
